Our Name

Many have asked if the name "Moriah" is one of my children's names.  While all my children's names start with an "M," Moriah is not one of my children's names but was selected because of what it means.  Moriah means "teaching place" or "the place of myrrh.  Myrrh is something used as a healing ointment and also used in perfumes because of its beautiful aroma.

Moriah Counseling and Consulting embodies those concepts. We desire to be a healing and teaching place where individuals and groups can learn how to overcome the struggles and problems they face, where professionals can learn and grow in their counseling professions, and be an agent to the healing process.
